Nalbinding is an ancient technique for creating textiles from wool with a single needle that predates both knitting and crochet, and was known throughout the ancient world. Some examples survive from Coptic-era Egypt in the 4th century CE and Anglo-Scandinavian York in the 9th century CE.
Emma ‘Bruni’ Boast’s book, Nalbinding for Beginners, is now available to download digitally from Etsy.
Her business, Nidavellnir, which is listed under the UK Heritage Crafts Association, is currently not dispatching physical orders outside of the UK, but ordinarily will ship both teaching materials, wools, and custom products worldwide.
