I'm currently a MPhil candidate in Celtic Studies at the University of Sydney, and my thesis is about tattooing in the British Isles in the first millennium CE. My academic background straddles both medieval studies and the (marine) geosciences, and the various languages in which I have some talents are Old English, Latin, and Old Irish. I have also been studying Modern Irish and Scottish Gaelic recently, and I am fluent in both Czech and Slovak, as well as English. While these are my main languages, others in which I dabble somewhat gingerly include Old Norse, Middle English, Middle Irish, Middle Welsh, German, various modern Scandinavian languages, French, and any other which is relevant to my current thread of research. I don't just love big words, little ones are wonderful too, and I hope to share my love of words regardless of their length.
