The Viking Age: Medieval Studies Courses

This online course is an introduction to Viking History, open to anyone with an interest in the period. Each week, historian Terri Barnes takes you through a different aspect of the lives of Norse peoples who lived during the Viking Age from c. AD 750 to 1100. This six-week course features weekly live video sessions with the instructor plus resources and readings. The next course starts on 6 April 2023 with a live class from 1700-1900 EDT (7 April 0700-0900 AEST). The course will cost US $299.

Terri Barnes is a medievalist historian from Portland, Oregon. Her primary area of research and teaching is northern Europe with particular emphasis on the Viking Age. Since 2004 she has been History faculty at Portland Community College where she also served as Social Science Department co-chair for 12 years. Terri’s work has been published in several academic journals, magazines, and online at Medievalists.net.
