Description:

The Centre for Medieval Studies and the Department of English in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invite applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in the area of Old English Language and Literature. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an expected start date of July 1, 2023, or shortly thereafter. This will be a joint appointment between the Centre for Medieval Studies (51%) and the Department of English (49%).

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Old English Language or Literature or a related area (e.g., Medieval Latin or Old Norse) with a clearly demonstrated exceptional record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance existing strengths at the Centre for Medieval Studies and the Department of English.
