The Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language and Literature (MCCALL) is seeking to appoint a highly qualified academic as Lecturer (Level B) in Literature. The successful applicant will have a specialisation in Medievalism and its reception, Victorian literature, poetry, and gender and genre in literature. An ability to teach and supervise research projects in American Literature, Contemporary Literature, and Literary Theory is advantageous, as is experience in teaching academic research and writing. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research publications and research grant applications, teaching excellence, and leadership and community engagement in Literature. This three-year fixed-term role is in Macquarie University’s Teaching & Research Job Family.
The successful applicant will be expected to: develop, convene, and review units in Literature at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; supervise Literature dissertations; contribute to a culture of high-quality research scholarship; and make contributions to the research culture, administration and outreach activities of the Department, Faculty and University.
You will be a highly motivated academic with a PhD in a relevant field of Literature. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in research, including high-quality ERA-assessable research publications and research grant applications; teaching experience in face-to-face and online modes of learning; and experience working in collaborative teaching teams. You will have demonstrated experience delivering core units and content. You will demonstrate leadership capability in your capacity to engage with academic and community stakeholders.
