This course is designed to introduce people to the Art of Calligraphy and the decorative art form of Gilding that accompanied many historical (medieval) Manuscripts. This module will focus on the art of Gilding – the application of gold leaf and tooling techniques. We will start with an understanding and experimentation of historical and modern size or glues used to adhere the gold. This will be applied to a decorative letter or design. This course is designed for beginners.
This course will be held in person at WEA, 72 Bathurst St, Sydney, over 4 consecutive Wednesdays 10 November – 1 December, 1730 – 1930 AEST. The course will cost $145.
