Visiting Assistant Professor – Medieval Studies – Clemson University

The English Department at Clemson University, in upstate South Carolina, invites applications for a 2-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Medieval studies, beginning in January 2022. Duties will include developing and teaching undergraduate courses, including an undergraduate Shakespeare course, and possible graduate seminars, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. The typical teaching load for a Visiting Assistant Professor is three courses per semester. Participation in the Clemson Humanities Hub’s monthly New Professors Research Forum is encouraged.

Successful candidates will hold a PhD in English Literature, Comparative Literature or Medieval Studies. We are especially interested in candidates whose research is in such areas as race, empire, diaspora, gender, and sexuality.
