The Department of Literature and Languages at Christian Brothers University, Memphis, Tennessee invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of English with a specialty in Medieval and Early Modern literature. A particularly strong candidate will have experience designing and teaching introductory and advanced courses in the Digital Humanities, which can support our growing Humanities Computing minor, as well as community engaged/Public Humanities courses. Our faculty particularly welcomes candidates who deploy Black studies, de/post colonial studies, disability studies, ethnic studies, feminist and sexuality studies, and/or other critical frameworks in their scholarship and pedagogy. The faculty member will be asked to contribute broadly to the department, especially through the teaching of upper-division courses in Medieval and Early Modern literature, honours world literature (ancient through 1600 literature), and general education literature and composition courses.
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ph.D. in English, Comparative Literature, or related subject.
- Undergraduate teaching experience required.
- To be considered for the appointment of Assistant Professor, the candidate must have Ph.D. in hand by 11 August 2022.
