TOEBI 2021 Annual Conference – CFP

The Teachers of Old English in Britain and Ireland (TOEBI) association aims to promote and support the teaching of Old English in British and Irish Universities, and to raise the profile of the Old English language, Old English literature and early medieval England in the public eye. The organisation consists of some 200 professionals, students and other enthusiasts; it produces its own newsletter, holds an annual meeting and an AGM.

TOEBI will hold its annual conference both online and at in person at the National University of Ireland, Galway, on 27 November 2021. This year’s theme is ‘Feeling and Sense’, and the committee invites abstracts relating to any aspect of the above theme, including but not limited to the following topics:

  • emotions, feelings, or affect
  • the senses
  • sensory processing
  • pedagogies of empathy
