University of Melbourne – Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Melbourne Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is a University of Melbourne program, offered in 2021 to support early career researchers, and in recognition of the effects of the COVID 19 pandemic on this cohort. Fellowships are available to University of Melbourne PhD graduates and current academic staff (fixed term or casual) who may have graduated with a PhD from another university.

Applicants must have been awarded their PhD between 1 January 2019 and the application due date of 23 August 2021, or on or after 1 January 2017 and had a period of significant research career interruption between 1 January 2017 and 23 August 2021.

The University will fund the Fellowships for a three-year appointment commencing at Level A.6 in the University salary band plus superannuation. There will be one award per faculty.

Fellows will receive an additional $25,000 to be spent on project costs over the term of their Fellowship. Awards will be for a maximum of three years commencing between 1 November 2021 and 31 March 2022.

Interested applicants from the Faculty of Arts should submit their EOI by 3pm (AEST) on Monday 2 August 2021. On the basis of these EOIs, shortlisted candidates will be invited to submit a full application by Monday 23 August 2021.
