Hosted by the Medieval Institute at Western Michigan University, the International Congress on Medieval Studies is an annual gathering of scholars interested in medieval studies.
Because of continuing uncertainties regarding the pandemic (as emphasised by the World Health Organisation and the CDC) and its effect on travel, the 2022 Congress will be held virtually over the following dates: 9-14 May, 2022.
The process for proposing individual papers as well as contributions to roundtables, panel discussions and poster sessions for the 57th Congress uses an online submission system powered by Confex, and can be accessed here:
Proposals for sponsored and special sessions—including sessions of papers, roundtables, panel discussions, workshops, performances, demonstrations, practicums and poster sessions—for the International Congress on Medieval Studies must be made by 1 June 2021.
The proposal portal for papers will open in July 2021.
Notification of acceptance and rejection of papers, roundtable contributions, contributions to panel discussions, and posters considered for sponsored and special sessions is made in October. Notification of acceptance and rejection of papers considered for inclusion in general sessions (those organized by the Program Committee at Western Michigan University) is made in December.
